Today
Combermere remains a family home, lived in by Sarah Callander Beckett and her husband, Peter and son, Peregrine. However, over the past 18 years since Sarah took over the mantle from her mother, the estate has undergone a seismic change.
Many of the derelict, unused buildings which littered the estate, victims of changes in social circumstances and requirements have found new life as holiday accommodation, wedding and party spaces, welcoming people on tours and visits and enjoying the wonderful landscape and woodlands on special open days.
My philosophy is to continue to introduce enterprises that fit with the spirit of place that inhabits Combermere. I am always on the lookout for activities and people who respond to its powerful energy and beauty, and developing its potential as a centre of excellence.
