It's a shame that we can never tell you these really juicy
bits of news until special guests have departed, but the five-star
self-catering cottages at Combermere Abbey are nothing if not very private!
Three
well-known actresses with a huge list of credits between them have been staying
with us while appeared in a production at the Lyceum Theatre in Crewe.
Lancashire-born Shirley Anne Field has been in
more than two dozen films, and in television dramas as diverse as Monarch Of
The Glen, Upstairs Downstairs and (incredibly for someone so glamorous) Last Of
The Summer Wine. Anita Harris's career as a singer began when she was very
young, and by her teens she was a dancer in Las Vegas. She appeared on television very
frequently in the Sixties, Seventies and Eighties, often alongside the likes of
Morecambe and Wise, French and Saunders, and Bob Monkhouse - and was in several
Carry On films! Anne Charleston was born in Australia
but has lived in Galway in the west of Ireland for many years. She is
known as a stalwart of the soap opera Neighbours, in which she played Madge
Mitchell between 1986 and 1992, and then again from 1996 to 2001.
All three
ladies reportedly had a splendid stay in the Combermere cottages, and their
play at The Lyceum - Fatal Encounter - was a huge success. It goes without
saying that if stars such as these ladies' have been delighted by the tranquillity
and romance of Combermere Abbey then you will be too.
The cottages are jolly
busy over weekends in the near future, but there are terrific offers for online
bookings of midweek breaks. Click here for more details and also for availability. You'll have a delightful time - and you never
know who else might also be staying here!
