FROM M6

From the M6, leave the motorway at Junction 16, and at the roundabout follow signs for A500 Nantwich/Crewe. You are now traveling on the A500 which takes you directly into Nantwich approx. 8 miles.  After the first roundabout the A500 becomes a dual carriageway for approx. 6 miles.  At the end of the dual carriageway you will come to a roundabout - take the Nantwich A51 exit.  At the first traffic lights, turn left following signs for Whitchurch (A530/A525).  Continue through 2 sets of traffic lights.  At the third traffic light (T junction), turn right and second left following signs for Whitchurch (A530/A525). 

* Follow this road around a sharp left bend, passing Nantwich Lake on the right. You are now approx. 6 miles from Combermere Abbey.  You will pass through the villages of Sound and Aston and after a further 900m the Primebake factory, on the left.  At this point you are now 1 mile from the entrance to Combermere which is on your right.  When you see the road sign on the left to Burleydam, Audlem and Woore, signal right and turn into the main drive. 

FROM NORTHWEST ENGLAND:

Follow signs from M6 above.

FROM CHESTER:

Follow the A51 signed towards Nantwich.  At Burford crossroads carry straight on through the traffic lights and the village of Acton eventually reaching traffic lights underneath the viaduct.  Turn left and follow the bypass straight through three more sets of traffic lights and up to the roundabout, where you take the third exit, past Nantwich Train Station and over the level crossing.  Take the second turning on the right following the signs for Whitchurch (A530/A525).  Pick up the directions from the second paragraph of the M6 * above.
Alternatively follow the A41 into Whitchurch and then follow directions from The Midlands/Southwest at the point ** below.

FROM MANCHESTER AIRPORT

Join the M56, leave at Junction 7 joining A556 going south (towards Northwich), Join M6 at Junction 19, leave at Junction 16, thereafter follow instructions given for the M6.

FROM THE SOUTH, SOUTHEAST & EAST OF ENGLAND

Use M1, M6 or M40, M42N and join the M6 TOLL. If you are approaching the M6 toll from the south, you can join at either junction 7A of the M42 or junction 4 of the M6.  Also applies using the A14, M6.  The toll road rejoins the M6 at junction 12A. Exit the motorway at Junction 16 following signs for Nantwich.  On reaching Nantwich follow the A530/A525 for Whitchurch. Follow directions as in M6 above.

FROM THE MIDLANDS/SOUTHWEST

Using M5/ M6, exit at junction 10A onto the M54, leaving the M54 at Junction 3. Turn right at the roundabout and take the A41 signed for Whitchurch. ** Follow the A41 to Whitchurch there taking the bypass and signs for Newcastle and Audlem A525. Proceed along the A525 for approx. 4 miles.   DO NOT take the sign for Newcastle and Audlem on the right, but keep straight on towards Nantwich A530 as the entrance to Combermere is only 200m further on, on the left.

THE ENTRANCE TO COMBERMERE

The entrance has formal signs just back from the road saying Combermere Abbey, and a pair of stone pillars & gates. Please continue past the ‘Private/ No Entry' signs at the entrance. Take this private drive (approx. 1 mile), observing the speed limits, to the point where there is a white Gothic house.

For THE WEDDINGS & EVENTS Office (Keepers Cottage)

At the white Gothic house turn right following the signs to The Glasshouse.  At 20 yds, turn left (follow signs ) into the large car park against the Walled Garden Walls.  Entry to the Glasshouse office is at the top right hand corner, through the gate and up the cobbled path to Keepers Cottage front door.

For the GLASSHOUSE and WALLED GARDEN PAVILION

Follow the above directions into the car park.  Entry to the Pavilion, Walled Gardens and Glasshouse is through the large double gates in the Walls.

FOR THE HOLIDAY COTTAGES

Continue down the drive for 1000m past a white Gothic house and turn right into the car park at the green and white sign for Cottages Car Park and Office. Please present yourself at the office during working hours and Heather or June will direct you to your cottage.

For COTTON: Please park in the first car park. The latter two cottages are only accessed from the inner courtyard, so guests may drive in and unload but must at all times park their cars in this carpark. There is a disabled car space clearly marked.

For BECKETT & STAPLETON: Please continue past the office, up a left hand slope and park diagonally against the long beech hedge. There is a disabled car space clearly marked. Please observe the no parking signs for the estate vehicles against the laurel hedge.

For POOLE, EMPRESS & WELLINGTON: Please continue to the end of the garden wall and turn left hand down a slight slope to a private parking area. Wellington is accessed via the white picket gate.

The main courtyard of the building may only be used for loading and unloading luggage where necessary during your stay.  Emergency numbers are listed on a board outside the Office and inside each cottage.

Late arrivals MUST alert the housekeeper or administrator of later arrivals.(After 5pm)  Guests will be phoned after their arrival, and the housekeeper will introduce herself the following working day.

For THE ABBEY (Front Entrance for Tours)

Drive past the white Gothic house to the point where the drive splits into three, take the right hand drive, past some painted posts and over a cattle grid up to the Front Door.  Please park where appropriate.

For the ESTATE OFFICE

Follow the sign for the Estate Office and Deliveries, over a cattle grid, passing the kitchen garden on your left with a low building on the right.  Please park against the yew hedge and stone balustrade.  Go through the arch in the stone wall into the courtyard and the door to the estate office is on the right.
